The Hayat Approach: Designing Indian Kitchens That Actually Work
From masala storage to pressure cooker organization, we share our expertise in creating modular kitchens that understand Indian cooking.

Design Team at Hayat
Our collaborative design team brings together expertise in modular systems, Indian cooking requirements, and contemporary aesthetics.
In our 10 years of designing interiors, we've learned one undeniable truth: the kitchen is the heart of every Indian home. And yet, most modular kitchen companies in India are still designing to European standards that simply don't understand how Indian families cook.
Why Standard Modular Kitchens Fail Indian Families
Most modular kitchen companies import designs from Europe. An Indian kitchen cooks 2-3 meals daily, with extensive prep and a much wider variety of ingredients and cookware.
The Hayat Kitchen Design System
Over years of iteration, we've developed a comprehensive approach to Indian kitchen design. Here's our methodology:
1. The Cooking Habit Assessment
Before we draw a single line, we spend time understanding how you cook. How many meals? How much bulk storage? Do you grind your own masalas?
2. Zone-Based Layout
We design every kitchen in five distinct zones: Prep & Washing, Cutting & Chopping, Cooking Zone, Pantry System, and Serving area.
3. Material Choices for Indian Cooking
Indian cooking is tough on materials. Granite countertops and BWP (Boiling Water Proof) plywood are essential for longevity.
